In Case You Didn’t Know About Brett Young

When California-bred, former college pitcher Brett Young heard Tim McGraw’s “Don’t Take the Girl” he knew he wanted to be a musician. “That for me was the first time I heard a country song and said this is what I wanna do…I want to connect like that. When your audience really feels what you’re singing, it becomes about much more than the show. You have a connection…you truly have a fan and a shared special moment.”

With a sound coined as “CALIVILLE” (a combination of his SoCal roots and Nashville influence), Young‘s career started with a bang and has not slowed down. Couple that with his soulful voice and emotional lyrics, and there is no end in sight. His debut single, “Sleep Without You,” was certified platinum and hit #1. His subsequent four singles all also hit #1 on the charts and were all certified platinum or multi-platinum. Young was also named the 2018 ACM New Male Vocalist.

Young attributes the success to his work ethic from growing up in sports. “There is a discipline that you learn growing up playing sports, which I did through college. It is always my goal to work harder than the next guy.”

Young married his longtime girlfriend, Taylor Mills, in November 2018. In April the couple announced they were expecting their first child. A few weeks later, they revealed they’re having a baby girl with an adorable video! Congrats to the Youngs!
