“Christmas in the Country” by Thomas Rhett

If you didn’t already know, Thomas Rhett released his first ever Christmas song, “Christmas in the Country” last month which reminds us of all the things that make the holiday so special.

After releasing the song, Thomas Rhett said in a press release, “Christmas is hands-down my favorite time of year. We have so many Christmas traditions in our family that include a lot of festive music, but I’ve never recorded anything myself. [My wife] Lauren has wanted me to make some Christmas music for a long time, so this year felt like the right time to finally take a stab at writing something and to put my own twist on one of the all-time classics.”

We would like to personally thank Lauren for encouraging him to record a Christmas song because we are absolutely in love it! We are crossing our fingers for more Christmas songs in 2020!

CMA Christmas Special

The country music industry loves spreading joy so much that they created a CMA Christmas special that premiered on December 3rd, 2019. One of our 2020 Country Fest artists, Runaway June, debuted on this special and their performance will be sure to get you in the Christmas spirit!

During a recent interview with Richard Sterben, the group’s bass singer, states, “Each year the Christmas tour has grown. It’s gotten bigger and better. It’s become the biggest part of our year. … For a lot of our fans, it’s become a tradition to come and see the Oak Ridge Boys at Christmas time. … And we love it; Christmas music is very important to all four of us.”
