Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood host tonight's 51st Annual CMA Awards

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood host the 51st Annual CMA Awards for the 10th straight year.

Tune in tonight to watch as the Country Music industry honors its finest entertainers with unforgettable performances and winners revealed in 12 categories.

How are nominees and winners determined? More than 6,300 industry professional members of CMA come together and winners are determined by eligible voting CMA members. The CMA has been promoting country music for 59 years, and was the first trade organization formed specifically for one music genre.

CMA Awards performance spots are the perfect opportunity for up-and-coming artists to showcase their profile on a national stage for a world-wide audience.

Tonight, newcomer Kane Brown will join Brad Paisley in performing Paisley’s new song “Heaven South.” You know Kane Brown for his duet “What Ifs” with childhood friend Lauren Alaina.

Brad Paisley will perform his song “Heaven South” with newcomer Kane Brown at the 51st Annual CMA Awards.

One year ago, Brown’s only wish was to be playing on country music radio, but a month ago, he and Alaina watched “What Ifs” climb to the top of country radio airplay charts.

Not only will you see Brown perform tonight, he’ll be performing for fans at Country Fest next June. Paisley will be headlining Country Fest’s Friday night.

Other artists you’ll see performing at Country Fest 2018 are Luke Combs and Lauren Alaina, both up for nomination for New Artist of the Year.

Combs recently shared his excitement about his CMA nomination in a recent interview with The Boot.

“I could sit here and lie to you and tell you that I don’t think about that stuff, and I don’t a lot. But I do to a point … Once the second ballots came in, and we saw what we were up for, it was cool to go, ‘Wow, people actually think this is cool. People inside the industry think this is a cool thing.’ And that’s awesome, because being respected by your peers, I think, is something everybody strives for, especially in this business.”

Lauren Alaina is not only celebrating tonight’s nomination, but she also celebrates her 23rd birthday, ready for celebrations wearing a fancy dress.

“Last year I didn’t have seats with the artists, I had fan seats. I went home during the show and watched it on TV and then went out to the after parties because I didn’t want to be sitting in my fancy dress in the stands. This year, I’m nominated in one of them.”

Lauren Alaina nominated for Best New Artist

Lauren Alaina can’t hide her excitement for her 51st Annual CMA Awards nomination for Best New Artist.

Regardless of her excitement around the nomination, Alaina is proud of the events that have occurred over the last four years and how they transformed her, creating her album Road Less Traveled, released early this year.

“If I win, I will pass out, and if I don’t win, I will still be proud and excited and eat cake and pizza and all the things you eat on your birthday.”
