Get ready to have another reason to celebrate! Brett Young released his second studio album last Friday! And perhaps just in time for us Midwesterners as winter is officially here…The album is titled Ticket to L.A. While you may not be able to travel to sunny L.A., you can listen to this album and dream of warm summer days!

Brett Young Ticket to L.A.

Why call it Ticket to L.A.? Brett Young explains, “flying home to Los Angeles has become such a big part of my life.” So what are his new songs like? Fans can expect to hear more up-tempo songs, a bit of a departure from his debut album, Brett Young. Young attributes this to being at a difficult point in his life when making the first album, compared to being in a much different place this time around. Ten of the album’s 13 tracks were co-written by Young, including a duet with Gavin DeGraw called Chapters.

Young released Here Tonight, the first single off the album, back in September and it has been steadily climbing the charts since. Easy to see why. This catchy song is something everyone can relate to – being lost in a moment, not paying attention to the outside world, and not wanting it to end.
Check out Brett’s take on the song below:

In addition to Here Tonight, other songs off the album include Reason to Stay and Catch. Both love songs, but with very different feels. Reason to Stay makes a great crank-it-up & drive with the windows down kind-of-song (once it’s above freezing temperatures, that is). Catch slows it down a little and gives us more crooning with that voice we love. This time around, it’s about unexpectedly finding love in bar.

Along the note of unexpected love, another song is the title track, Ticket to L.A. This song paints the picture of meeting someone at an airport, and listening to it makes you forget how tiring layovers really can be.
