BlackHawk: Two Decades and No Slowing Down.

BlackHawk burst onto to the country scene in 1993 and has been going strong ever since. Founded by Henry Paul, Dave Robbins and Van Stephenson, the three worked to combine their individual careers into one cohesive sound. Paul was coming from a southern rock background, Stephenson an 80s pop career and Robbins a country songwriter. The band managed to do just that and started their career with a bang, releasing hits such as Goodbye Says It All and Every Once in a While.

Tragedy struck the band in 1999 when Van Stephenson was diagnosed with an aggressive form of melanoma. Stephenson lost his battle in 2001, but left Paul and Robbins with the dying wish that BlackHawk continue to make music and also fight for a cure. Shortly after, the band released a greatest hits album dedicated to Stephenson and featuring his final recording, Ships of Heaven. Paul and Robbins also set-up the Van Stephenson Memorial Cancer Research Fund, donating the proceeds to the Vanderbilt Cancer Research Center.

Twenty-five years later, and BlackHawk is still releasing new music and touring, bringing their signature engaging shows to fans.
