Country Fest 2018 will see three of Pandora’s Country Music Artists to Watch
Pandora has released its list of Top 20 Country Artists to Watch for 2018—and you’ll be seeing three of them on this list perform at Country Fest in Cadott, Wis. next June.
Singer/songwriter Ashley McBryde has an energetic, moving style of country rock. McBryde performs songs across the spectrum all us country music fans look for. They’re songs that go beyond the standard with tons of party vibes. And while she has songs that hit us in the feels, she’s not one to take herself too seriously.
After performing this summer at the Grand Ole Opry, she looked to the crowd and found a standing ovation. Among her fans include country music superstars Eric Church and Miranda Lambert (pretty neat, eh?).
You may know Devin Dawson from his YouTube video a few years back. A lot of buzz came from the Taylor Swift mashup he made with his college roommate, and that buzz turned into a record deal. His debut album Dark Horse (2018) includes his single “All On Me.”
Dawson grew up right outside Folsom Prison’s gates in California. Listeners can hear a darkness in his music, but each song balances beautifully on stage.
He’s paid his dues in touring—although his tours were spent with his rock band. Before moving to Music City to study songwriting, Dawson spent five years of what he calls “slum touring,” spending 300 nights each of those years on the road.
“I wouldn’t trade it for the world—it helped me find my perspective—but I grew up listening to country and that’s how I learned how to write songs.”
Jordan Davis may be coined a “walking contradiction” musically between his love for massive sounds as well as solo guitar, but he’s focused on marrying the opposite ends of the spectrum.
Davis comes from a musical family, including a songwriter and an artist. His song “Singles You Up” quickly rose to the top of Pandora’s New Country station as a fan-favorite.
Although Davis grew up with music a part of every-day life, it took him a while to enter the music scene. He’s graduated from LSU with a degree in environmental science and held an entry-level job. It was his brother, Jacob Davis, who convinced Jordan that Nashville was the place to be.
Davis has been on tour with Kip Moore this fall, and you’ll see him perform at Country Fest on Friday, June 22nd.
